About Us
Our Story
Middle Fork Logistics is built on heritage, grit, and a steadfast commitment to serving Alaska’s infrastructure and energy needs.
Our name honors the Middle Fork of the Salmon River in Idaho, a place where our founder, Joshua Ray, spent his youth hunting and camping. When it came time to name his company, he chose a place that reflected his roots—symbolizing resilience, connection to the land, and a deep respect for nature.
Founded in 2009 in Palmer, Alaska, Middle Fork Inc. began as a general contracting firm. Our early work focused on road maintenance, rehabilitation, and construction throughout the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, laying the foundation for our reputation in dependable service and operational excellence.
As opportunities grew in Alaska’s Interior, the company relocated to North Pole, expanding our capabilities and reach. In 2021, we were awarded a contract to provide trucking services for a paving project on the Dalton Highway near Deadhorse. To meet the fuel demands of this remote project efficiently, Joshua Ray launched a new division—Middle Fork Logistics—to manage fuel transport internally.
What began as a solution for our own needs quickly evolved into a thriving logistics operation. Middle Fork Logistics began hauling fuel for other companies, earning new contracts and eventually outpacing the original contracting business. This growth led to another strategic move—this time to Fairbanks, where we secured the space needed to support our expanding operations.
A pivotal milestone was reached when our efforts to support a local energy company’s natural gas supply needs evolved into a strategic partnership. This opportunity led Middle Fork Logistics to submit a successful bid and secure the Interior Gas Utility (IGU) contract to transport LNG from Prudhoe Bay to Fairbanks—strengthening our position in Alaska’s energy logistics network.
To support this growth and prepare for the future, we invested in new infrastructure. In 2024, we cleared land just down the road from our current location and began construction on a new shop in spring 2025. This facility represents our commitment to meeting Alaska’s growing demand for natural gas with reliable, top-tier logistics services. At Middle Fork Logistics, we’re proud to be part of Alaska’s progress—delivering fuel, building partnerships, and investing in the future, all while staying true to our values and honoring God through our work.
